1. WHAT COOKIES ARE

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as the local storage of the browser, keep data in the same way without being a cookie. The law (article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, transposed in Portugal by Law 41/2004) requires your prior consent for any storage that is not strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for.

2. HOW CONSENT WORKS ON THIS SITE

On your first visit a banner offers "Accept" and "Decline". Until you choose, the site itself stores nothing on your device. "Accept" loads Google Analytics. "Decline" loads nothing, and the site works exactly the same. Your choice is remembered in the local storage of your browser so that the banner does not appear on every page. The Google map on the home page is the one exception: it is content of a third party that loads with the page, as explained in section 4.

3. STRICTLY NECESSARY STORAGE

These items need no consent because they are necessary to provide the site and to keep it secure.

4. STORAGE THAT NEEDS YOUR CONSENT

Google Analytics is loaded only after "Accept". We use it to know how many people visit the site, from which countries, on which devices, and which pages they read. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. The statistics are kept in Google Analytics for at most 14 months. We do not combine them with your identity and we do not use them for advertising. 5. THIRD-PARTY CONTENT: GOOGLE MAPS

The contact section of the home page embeds a Google Maps map that loads with the page. When it loads, Google LLC receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, for example NID (6 months), under Google's own policy (policies.google.com/technologies/cookies). We show the map on the basis of our legitimate interest in showing where our office is. If you prefer that Google receives nothing, block third-party cookies in your browser or use a content blocker; the rest of the site works the same.

6. WHAT WE DO NOT DO

We do not use advertising, retargeting or social-media cookies, we do not profile visitors, and we do not sell or share data for marketing. The demo form stores no cookies: it is sent to us by email.

7. HOW TO CHANGE OR WITHDRAW YOUR CHOICE

Delete the site data of addaptsoft.com in the settings of your browser (cookies and site data). The banner appears again on your next visit, and the Google Analytics cookies are removed together with the site data. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing done before. You can also block cookies in general in your browser; instructions: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.
